I cannot believe I am even writing this right now. Guys, I GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE!!

My first year at UTSA was very different. I recently rededicated my life to the Lord and was trying to find my way as an emerging adult. Because of COVID, I was still recovering from not having a great end to my senior year in high school and was desperately trying to make new friends. In that effort, I made some dumb choices that pushed me further from God. One Sunday at church the Lord kept tugging at my heart and I clearly heard him ask me “Am I enough?” He has spoken to me before but this time the Lord gave me a clear choice: follow Him or the world. From that moment, I chose to make Him Lord over my life and since then He has been so faithful to see me through. Over these past three years, I have been able to grow and mature in my walk with Christ. I have gotten to know Him as a father, friend, provider, husband, savior, and Lord. He has given me such deep friendships that seek to glorify Him over everything else. He has changed my desires and has been able to turn my desire for success and academic discipline into a way to bring Him glory.

I graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio with a B.A. in Public Administration and Policy with 3 additional minors. I have graciously been able to participate in really cool jobs, internships, and programs that have given me a well-rounded experience. I interned with the Bexar County District Attorney and participated in prosecuting a capital murder case. I worked with RAICES and helped many immigrant families find refuge here in the United States. I was an ambassador for the City of San Antonio and UTSA which gave me the opportunity to advocate and advise on several policies to our political leaders. I was commissioned by the city to work with the Economic Development Department to create a plan and program to administer over $300M in ARPA funds to small business owners across the city. Lastly, I worked closely with UTSA’s Global Initiatives to advise and administer to international and exchange students in addition to helping students study abroad. My time here has been nothing but eventful.

God has also entrusted me with a small group of girls who seek to know more about Him and desire to know His heart. It has been so sweet getting to know each of them and watching them grow in Christ. The Holy Spirit has worked in their hearts and has taught them so much. To the glory of God, three of them have repented and have been baptized! I am so excited to see how the Lord continues to mature them.

Looking back at all that I have done here in San Antonio, I know it will always be so near and dear to my heart. I have made so many memories here and have developed deep friendships. I was blessed with a strong community and we have matured together. It pains me to close this chapter but I can do it knowing that the Lord was faithful in this season and He will continue to be faithful in the next.
