If you know me, then you know I am definitely a city girl. I greatly appreciate modern technology and love the noise and bustle of the city. Since being here in San Antonio, my friends have definitely pushed me to go outdoors more. San Antonio is such a great city full of amazing wildlife and nature. It has some of the prettiest views I have ever seen. My friends and I went up to the hill country for my first camping trip. This trip was unlike anything I have done before. Spending time outdoors is so humbling. I am so privileged to live in comfort and camping reminded me of that.
The ride up was so beautiful. There are large mountains with amazing foliage, matched with the sunset it created an amazing view. When we got to the camping site we made a fire with our hands. That was pretty insane. We started roasting some hotdogs on the fire, some of them got pretty burnt, but it still made an amazing meal. I got to make my first campfire s’more, that was delicious! I definitely burnt a couple of marshmallows but it added character to the process. We played a couple of games and then had a really cool campfire worship session. Having all my friends around and worshipping the Lord was very comforting. I would do that every day if I could.

Overall, I made new friends and had an opportunity to humble myself before the Lord. I am so grateful to have amazing people like this who are open to new ideas and push me to go out of my comfort zone. I am warming up to the idea of being in nature more. This trip was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to do it again!

“Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that He will lift you up in His own good time. Leave all your worries with Him because He cares for you.” -- 1 Peter 5:6-7
