Normally I do not celebrate Halloween but this year was a little different. My friends and I had a little celebration and costume party. We went as a rendition of Noah’s Ark, called Nailah’s Ark.

We had a little baking competition where we had to incorporate pumpkin/pumpkin spice. We made a “Deconstructed Pumpkin Cinnamon Monkey Bread with a Buttercream Frosting”. The recipe is below :)

Ingredients:

⅔ cup of white sugar

1 cup of brown sugar

2 tablespoons of pumpkin spice

½ cup of butter

3 cans of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls

⅔ cup can of pure pumpkin puree

Directions:

Monkey Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

  2. Take a large plastic bag and place the white sugar and pumpkin spice

  3. Open the 3 cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each one into at least 4 pieces

  4. Place the cut rolls into the bag and shake to evenly coat.

  5. In a separate bowl and mix brown sugar, butter, and pumpkin puree

  6. Stir until well combined

  7. Spray the bundt can with non-stick spray

  8. Place each piece into the pan

  9. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces evenly

  10. Bake for 30-40 minutes

  11. Let it cool for 15-20 minutes and plate

Frosting

  1. Take the frosting from the cinnamon roll cans

  2. Heat them up in a microwave for about 30 seconds

  3. Pour evenly over the monkey bread
